JOB PURPOSEThe Cytotechnologist 2 is responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory procedures according to prescribed policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONSA graduate of a school of Medical Cytotechnology.Must be registered with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and licensed and in good standing (a practicing member) with the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists.Ability to attend work on a regular basis.Ability to perform the duties of the position.Good work record.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Cytotechnologist 2 is responsible for:Performing routine and specialized proceduresValidating and reporting test resultsOperating, troubleshooting and doing preventative maintenance on equipmentPerforming quality control and participating in quality improvement activitiesProviding guidance, training and orientationCOMPETENCIES IDENTIFIED BY THE CANADIAN SOCIETY FOR MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE 2008Safe Work PracticesData and Specimen Procurement/ReceiptSpecimen Preparation and Pre-analytic ProcessingEquipment, Instruments and ReagentsSpecimen Assessment and InterpretationRecording and ReportingQuality ManagementProfessional ResponsibilitiesCOMPETENCIES IDENTIFIED BY HORIZON HEALTH NETWORKAttention to DetailInterpersonal RelationsPatient/Client FocusPlanning and Prioritizing WorkProblem SolvingResults Orientation The successful candidate awarded this position could be eligible for a 2K recruitment incentive which comes with a return of service commitment to HHN.Interested?
