Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Commercial. Industrial. Institutional. Residential. Urban area. Various locations. Installation. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Type of materials: Hardners and epoxies. Coating/application specialization: Urethanes. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Judgement. Organized. Team player.
