ELEMENTARY TEACHER- Learning Support Services <p>TEMPORARY- Full Time or Part Time - TO JUNE 30, 2025<p> <p>The Burnaby School District is on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Nations of Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish. <p>The Burnaby School District is the fourth largest in BC. The District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district and provincial resource programs. The District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners through our established Burnaby Community & Continuing Education program. Employees are supported throughout their careers to engage in professional development opportunities by encouraging learning on assigned professional development days and providing professional development workshops.<p>Burnaby School District invites applications from qualified LSS Elementary Teachers for Temporary Part time/Full Time positions.<p>Required Teacher Qualifications:<p><p> Bachelor?s degree or academic equivalent in an appropriate field of study;<p> Relevant methodology courses (primary and/or intermediate)<p> Valid BC Teaching Certificate<p> Knowledge of a broad range of effective instructional strategies in order to meet the diverse needs of all students;<p> Knowledge of consultative and collaborative strategies; and<p> Recent, successful, substantive teaching or practicum experience in the relevant grade level<p> Required LSS Qualifications: <p> <p> a Bachelor of Education degree or academic equivalent<p> two years of successful teaching experience in the regular classroom<p> courses designed to meet the diverse needs of exceptional learners equal to a minimum of 30 credits in the following areas: students with special needs, assessment/testing theory and practice, strategies for adapting and modification of curriculum, learning disabilities, giftedness, assistive technology or augmentative communication, ASD,<p> Functional Behavioural Assessment and Positive Behaviour Support, and differentiated instruction<p> demonstrated fluency and facility (both oral and written) in English and French when working in the French Immersion program<p><p>What the District offers: We offer a competitive salary structure designed to attract and retain top talent.
