School Bus Monitors assist the bus driver during the trip to and from school each day by supervising the activity of, and caring for, children with varying special needs. _This may include loading, securing, and unloading children in wheelchairs._ This position is an on-call basis, and each shift is 1.5 hours to 3 hours between Monday to Friday. Routes typically fall between the hours of 6:00 am - 9:00 am and 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. *Requirements* * Ability to communicate effectively * Patience in dealing with student disruptions * Physical ability to load, secure, and unload children in wheelchairs and car seats (_training provided_) * Experience in childcare considered an asset * Clear Criminal Record * Vulnerable sector check, upon hire (reimbursed by SOUTHLAND) *Wage* * $17.31 per hour Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Pay: $17.31 per hour Benefits: * Employee assistance program Schedule: * Day shift * Monday to Friday * No weekends Work Location: In person- LocationGeraldton, ON
