Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Retirement home. Tasks: Administer medications. Conduct specimen collection. Monitor nutritional intake. Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects . Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files. Take vital signs. Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination.
