Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Rural area. Relocation costs covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Social and family service agency. Child Welfare Organization. Tasks: Interview client individually, in families, or in groups, to assess their situation and problems to determine the types of services required . Perform administrative tasks. Plan programs of assistance for clients. Refer clients to agencies that provide financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment and other services. Provide public education and consultation regarding counselling services, issues and methods. Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals working with a client group. Advocate on client's behalf in courts or at hearings. Conduct social research. Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia. Provide consultation services to government and other organizations. Develop prevention and intervention programs to meet community needs. Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social and vocational development and adjustment. Conduct component defect investigations, examinations and tests.
