Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Outdoors. All weather conditions. Work setting: Construction company. Urban area. Various locations. Lawn care company. Landscape contractor. Tasks: Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Plant and move trees. Tree removal. Landscaping experience: Residential projects. Commercial and/or industrial construction. Park and recreation sites. Area of work experience: Snow removal. Construction specialization: Fieldstone paths. Interlocking brick. Poured concrete. Retaining walls. Rock gardens. Irrigation and drainage. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
