If you have an interest in fast-paced communications and community support services- this opportunity is for YOU!</p><p></p><p>Our organization provides 6-8 weeks of paid training which instills confidence, high-skilled communication techniques, and proper procedure for every emergency situation. In this role, the Communications Officer reports directly to the <b>MEDACOM</b> Operations Manager and is responsible for the following:</p><p></p><p><b>Working Conditions:</b></p><ul><li>Unionized environment.</li><li>As MEDACOM is a 24hr emergency service, the successful applicant must be available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Must be able to work 10-12 hour shifts.</li><li>Dress code: Uniformed, Clean and professional appearance (uniform is provided).</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Grade 12 (or equivalent).</li><li>Additional education in Communications is an asset.</li><li>Work experience in a similar environment is an asset. For example:<ul><li><i>Technology </i></li><li><i>Medical field</i></li><li><i>Communications</i></li><li><i>Customer Service</i></li><li><i>Online medical support, etc.</i></li></ul></li><li>Excellent English language.</li><li>Excellent computer proficiency.</li><li>Successful candidates must provide the following, issued within the last 12 months:<ul><li>Valid CPR Level C certification</li><li>Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector</li><li>Standard Employment Hearing Assessment</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Successfully complete aptitude test (Criticall).</li><li>Successfully complete internal training (6-8 weeks) including:<ul><li>Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification (EMD) course provided by the employer. <i>Employee is responsible for maintaining certification </i>every 2 years<i>.<- LocationCharlottetown, PE
