Buffalo Trail Public Schools is committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment supported by a highly effective team.<p>Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a Temporary Payroll Administrator to administer payroll and benefits for our support staff. This position, reporting to the Secretary-Treasurer, is needed as soon as possible and will continue until March 31, 2025 The role ensures the accurate and timely administration of payroll processes in alignment with our mission to provide a supportive and effective work environment.Position Details: Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time<p> Start Date: As soon as possible<p> End Date: March 31, 2025 <p> Key Responsibilities: <p>Verify and process monthly payroll, including timesheet verification<p> Administer benefits per union and non-union agreements <p> Oversee year-end procedures, including T4s and reporting<p> Maintain records for medical leave, vacation, and absences <p> Maintain records for medical leave, vacation, and absences <p> Support CUPE reporting and assist with collective agreement requirements <p> Manage ROEs, month-end deductions, and remittances to government agencies <p> Address inquiries regarding payroll and benefits <p> Ensure compliance with payroll-related policies, regulations, and agreements <p>Collaborate with Human Resources on leave management and collective agreements Qualifications: <p>Required: Grade 12 education with training in accounting, payroll, or HR<p>Preferred: <p>Post-secondary payroll or accounting training<p>Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Canadian Payroll Manager (CPM) designation (or working towards it)<p>FOIP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy) training<p>5+ years of related payroll experienceSkills: Proficiency in payroll/accounting software (Bellamy/Sylogist knowledge is an asset)<p> Strong organizational and analytical skills<p> Professional communication abilities, both written and interpersonal<p> Ability to work independently and as part of a team <p>Contact information for 3 professional references should be included in your application.<p>By virtue of the submission of an application, the applicant consents/agrees that Buffalo Trail Public Schools can contact current or previous employers for the purpose of conducting confidential reference checks whether or not the applicant has listed a reference for that employer and contacting references.<p>An original acceptable criminal records check with vulnerable sector check will be a condition of employment.Closing Details: <p>Applications may be submitted either: Online, via Apply to Education platform OR <p> By email: peter.neale@btps.ca Please use the subject: ATTN: Payroll Administrator Application If you require assistance with the application system, please contact Apply to Education at 1-877-900-5627 or email info@applytoeducation.com <p>Deadline: Friday November 15th at 4:30 pm. <p>For further information, please contact:<p>Peter Neale, Secretary Treasurer<p>Phone: 780-842-6144<p>All applications received by the deadline will be considered.
