<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Oakville Trafalgar Eye Centre (OTEC) </strong>consists of eye specialists, both ophthalmologists and optometrists, who deliver high quality care in a state of the art technology driven clinic. We believe in delivering forward thinking seamless healthcare in a collaborative environment. </p><p>We seek <strong>qualified ophthalmic technicians</strong> to join a team of eye care professionals in Oakville, Ontario.</p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li><p>Checking vision and eye pressure</p></li><li><p>Taking slit lamp and fundus photos</p></li><li><p>Performing autorefraction as well as pachymetry and topography</p></li><li><p>Performing diagnostic testing including Humphrey visual field testing, OCT testing, UWF testing, etc.</p></li><li><p>Performing biometry measurements for pre-operative patients including A scan and IOL Master</p></li><li><p>Assisting with patient counseling</p></li><li><p>Answering simple patient queries</p></li><li><p>Wiping down rooms and equipment between patients</p></li><li><p>Loading patients into rooms</p></li><li><p>Opening the patient chart and loading testing</p></li><li><p>Ensuring lanes are fully stocked at beginning of day, and in orderly condition at end of day</p></li></ul><p><strong>REQUIRED SKILLS</strong></p><ul><li><p>Excellent customer service skills</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written</p></li><li><p>Accuracy and attention to detail, both with charting and when taking patient measurements</p></li><li><p>Flexible and adaptable, able to cross train and contribute as required</p></li><li><p>Comfortable with technologies such as EMR and digital imaging suite</p></li><li><p>Comfortable with advanced diagnostic equipment</p></li><li><p>Can work well and take instruction as part of a team, but can also work independently and with minimal supervision</p></li><li><p>Ability to work in, and enjoy working in, a high volume fast paced environment without compromising patient care or customer service</p></li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS </strong></p><ul><li><p>High school diploma required</p></li><li><p>COA, COT, COMT certification preferred; COT or COMT strongly preferred</p></li><li><p>1-2 years of experience in opticianry, optometry, or ophthalmology</p></li></ul><p><strong>POSITION DETAILS</strong></p><p><strong>Compensation:</strong> Hourly commensurate with experience and qualifications + performance bonus</p><p><strong>Hours:</strong> Full-time /flexible schedule <span class="long-word">(days/evenings/weekends)</span> up to 40 hours per week</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Oakville, ON </p><p>We thank all candidates for their interest but we will only communicate with the candidates selected for an interview.</p><p>We are an equal opportunity employer and abide by all laws in Canada.</p></div>Company Description<div>Oakville Trafalgar Eye Centre (OTEC) consists of eye specialists, both ophthalmologists and optometrists, who deliver high quality care in a state of the art technology driven clinic.
