We are poised to meet the growing global demand for renewable fuels.Join our highly skilled team and become leaders in a world-class production facilityControl Systems EngineerReporting to the IT & Distributed Control System (DCS) Team Lead, the Control Systems Engineer is required to ensure the health and functionality of the ABB control system. The successful candidate will perform all the functions concerned with the health of the ABB 800xA hardware and software including the Refinery's basic control systems and related projects.Duties & ResponsibilitiesInteracting with Operations and our projects group to ensure that basic control strategies meet the requirements of Operations and our Process EngineersWorking closely with control room operators to both provide information and receive feedback for correction of problems or improvementsSupporting APC activitiesStriving to keep the DCS system components running with 100% up timeEnsuring that the system software is current and that any problems are of minimal impact to the systemTaking the lead role in the carrying out of all system modifications and updatesProvide day to day support and troubleshooting of the refinery control systemsOversee any third parties providing local or remote supportIdentify scope and implement control systems improvement projectsSupport turnaround team with subject matter expertise for the scoping of the control systems jobsSupport capital projects with the project scopes, cost estimates and also support design and constructionQualificationsMinimum of 5 years control systems experience as a qualified control systems engineer in renewable fuels, petroleum refining, petrochemical or similar industry (preference given to candidates with 7-10 years' experience)Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control system engineering, Chemical engineering, Electrical/Electronics engineering, or equivalent specific process control specialist experience in a plant environmentProfessional Engineer designation or eligibility to registerExperience with ABB 800xA control system is requiredExperience in control systems commissioning and project related (Control systems design, engineering, FAT, SAT etc.) work is preferredExperience with networking, network configuration and computer security is considered an assetStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsProven communication and collaboration skillsAble to work with all levels of management to determine upcoming scopes of work and identify departmental requirementsManage licenses and renewals of IT hardware and softwareAble to maintain professional demeanor under pressureAdaptability and flexibilityWell-developed organizational and time management skillsPhysical DemandsBy applying for this job, you acknowledge and understand that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):Sitting for long periods of timeTight deadlinesRepetitive movementsRegularly lifts/moves object up to 15 lbsAbility to wear personal protective equipmentMultit- LocationCome By Chance, NL
