Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Operate buses, school busses or streetcars to transport passengers. Report delays, mechanical problems and accidents. Complete logbooks and reports. Communicate with passengers, dispatchers or other drivers using two-way radio systems. Ensure children's safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing street while bus is stopped. Maintain control of student activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviours that could compromise safety. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Professionalism in customer service. Follow emergency and safety procedures. Follow directions and read map. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). School Bus Endorsement. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Medical exam. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Driver's abstract. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Sitting. Ability to work independently.
