*Key Responsibilities:* * Inspect, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems onboard various vessels (heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration units). * Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades to ensure optimal system performance. * Work with mechanical, electrical, and automated components of marine HVAC systems. * Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. * Ensure compliance with maritime safety and environmental regulations. * Collaborate with ship engineers and other technical personnel to resolve system issues. * Document work performed and maintain service records. * Respond to emergency repairs during vessel operations. *Qualifications:* * *3+ years of experience* working as an HVAC technician (marine/ship experience required). * Strong understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including chiller systems, compressors, and air handling units. * Ability to work in confined spaces and meet physical demands (climbing ladders, lifting equipment, etc.). * Familiarity with IMO, SOLAS, and maritime HVAC safety standards. * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. * *Relevant certifications* (e.g., EPA 608, Red Seal HVAC, or similar) are preferred. * Willingness to travel and work on-site at shipyards or onboard vessels when needed. * Strong communication and organizational skills. *What We Offer:* * Competitive salary based on experience. * Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, pension). * Paid travel out of County. * Opportunities for career growth and advancement. * A supportive team environment focused on professional development Job Type: Full-time Pay: $36.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: * Dental care * Employee assistance program * Extended health care * Life insurance * RRSP match * Vision care Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday Work Location: In person- LocationHalifax, NS
