Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Developmental services worker. Mental and social health services and allied professions, other. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Programs dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Work setting: Group home. Urban area. Community agency. Social service or charity agency. Developmental disorders. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Administrative and office activities. Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Perform administrative tasks. Implement life skills workshops. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community. Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Mental health first aid Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Area of work experience: Community service organization. Counselling specialization: Physical disabilities. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child welfare check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently.
