Education: Master's degree. Work setting: Architectural firm. Tasks: Adjust their designs to conform to limiting factors such as budget allocation and cost of materials. Consult with clients to determine the type, style and purpose of renovations or new building construction being considered. Generate building plans and detailed drawings to be used by contractors and tradespersons. Project management. Conceptualize and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs and construction schedules. Prepare sketches and models. Perform architectural research . Tender and administer contracts. Monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications. Computer and technology knowledge: Autodesk 3ds Max. Architectural software programs. Adobe Photoshop. MS Office. AutoCAD. Autodesk REVIT. Computer-aided design (CAD). SketchUp. V-Ray. InDesign.
