Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Work setting: Installation. Maintenance. Repair. Various locations. Tasks: Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment. Test equipment to locate transmission faults. Complete and maintain test and service reports. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Splice, join and connect wires. Repair or replace defective telephone equipment. Troubleshoot and locate faults. Install underground wiring and cables. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Communication protocols: Ethernet. Computer and technology knowledge: Telecommunication system. Equipment and machinery experience: Coaxial line. Fibre optics. Power cutting tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
