<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Job Title: </strong>Application Support Engineer, DevOps Engineer (promos)<br /><strong>Primary Location: </strong>Canada (Ontario or British Columbia)<br /><strong>Position Type: </strong>6-month contract to hire<br><br><strong>Overview:</strong><br />TalentFish is casting a line for an Application Support Engineer/DevOps Engineer focus on Ops - LINUX (command line), Python, RUBY, Bash/Zsh, API, SQL, and AWS. This is a remote 6-month contract-to-hire role in Ontario or British Columbia. This is a great opportunity to work on a newly created team that is focused on running and maintaining promotions. This is a fun creative role for a DevOps focused Engineer who loves creating. Our client is a premier agency providing advertising, promotions and digital games and sweepstakes to some of the world's largest and most well-respected brands. This is a high-energy creative organization with a tremendous reputation.<br><br><strong>What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of professional experience with a title such as Application Support Specialist, DevOps Engineer Software Support Engineer equivalent</li><li>Experience working on LINUX - Command Line</li><li>Demonstratable experience with scripting languages such as Python, or Ruby and Bash/Zsh</li><li>Experience with HTTP & REST APIs, and testing using - tools such as Curl or Postman</li><li>Basic SQL - execute standard SQL commands from the command line to satisfy ad-hoc support requests</li><li>Experience with AWS services and security best practices and cloud computing concepts</li><li>Proficient in monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Grafana and Prometheus, setting up dashboards, interpreting real-time data, and implementing alerting systems for proactive incident management.</li><li>Experienced with Graylog or Loki (centralized logging systems) experience writing sophisticated queries to extract, analyze, and monitor log data for operational insights and troubleshooting.</li><li>Solid understanding of security and encryption practices</li><li>Ability to read and write IaC such as Terraform</li><li>Experience with proxy, debugging, and profiling tools</li><li>Proficiency in reading and writing XML/XSD</li><li>Comfortable with version control such as GIT</li><li>Demonstratable analytical, and problem-solving, skills. Can diagnose issue resolution, has strong communication, and interpersonal skills, is detail-oriented, is a team player, is self-motivated, and proactive.</li><li>Nice to have system profiling and performance tuning</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to use Athena to perform ad-hoc support queries against data in S3 buckets</li><li>Understanding of JVM memory management and garbage collection tuning</li><li>Experience with Java and/or NoSQL databases</li><li>Familiarity with Elasticache, DynamoDB, APIGateway, Lambda, Cloudwatch, Cloudfront, Cognito</li><li>Experience with load testing high-performance distributed systems</li></ul><p><strong>What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)</strong></p><ul><li>Provide advanced application support for our promotion platform, addressing and resolving issues promptly to ensure optimal system performance.</li><li>Collaborate with the development team to diagnose and troubleshoot application-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.</li><li>Gain an understanding of platform capabilities so you may confidently interface with internal, vendor, and client technical teams for smooth integrations and troubleshooting</li><li>Monitor system performance and conduct regular health checks to proactively identify potential issues and areas for improvement.</li><li>Lead incident response to ensure swift resolution of anomalies detected in internal platforms, downstream client environments, as well as partner systems</li><li>Ensure continuous up-to-date communication on incident
