*Job Overview*
The Developmental Service Worker plays a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves assisting clients in daily living activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Developmental Service Worker will be working alongside the team in the home to deliver the best care.
*Duties*
* Assist clients with personal care tasks, including feeding, grooming, diaper changes, toileting and dressing.
* Provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
* Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation.
* Engage clients in recreational and social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Monitor and document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Assist clients with mobility needs, including transferring and heavy lifting when necessary.
*Skills*
* Strong patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy.
* Experience in working with special needs adults
* Ability to perform medication administration accurately and responsibly.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
* Capability to handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining proper body mechanics.
* Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing quality care.
* Able to pivot and become creative with planning activities
* Taking the client out in the community
This position requires dedication to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities through supportive services and compassionate care.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 ? 21 per week

Education:
* AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

* NVCI (preferred)
