*Overview of the Position: *The Electrical Engineer will work on low-voltage projects, including Generator Sets, Diesel Hybrid, and electric motors. The scope of each project will vary from a basic controller schematic for an engine to electrical synchronization and hybrid units (Diesel Generator, battery and solar). Projects will require electrical design for AC power, instrumentation and controls, drawings and bill of materials. The Electrical Engineer will work in an environment with other engineers and engineering technologists.
*Key Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Wiring Schematic and Panel Designs for Engine and Generator packages.
* Program & test PLC and generator set controllers in ladder logic, function block diagrams.
* Source and size electrical components based on project requirements
* Prepare bill of material for projects and standard units.
* Work with communication protocols such as CanBUS and Modbus for remote communication, troubleshooting or in-house testing.
* Write technical documents such as test plans, manuals, work instructions, etc
* Perform on-site testing and commissioning of control systems as needed
* Technical support for Sales, Service and Manufacturing
*Experience and Qualifications: *
* An Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a Canadian institution.
* Registered as a P.Eng or EIT in good standing with APEGA or eligible to register as a P.Eng/EIT. in any Canadian province/territory; Or C.E.T. or T.T. in good standing with ASET.
* 2D/ 3D modelling CAD experience in Solidworks and Autocad
* Able to use electrical tools and test equipment: digital multimeter and oscilloscope for testing and troubleshooting.
* Prime power, standby, and emergency generator sets, their markets, and how they are built.
* Understanding of Battery applications up to 600V.
* Able to use hand tools: screwdrivers, socket sets, wrenches, terminal strippers, Crimpers, etc.
