*Overview*
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, along with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing valuable insights into the financial health of the organization.
*Responsibilities*
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
* Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
* Prepare monthly HST calculation and use NETFILE.
* Calculate commissions for real estate transactions (residential) and process commission payments.
* Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and NewStar for financial management.
* Provide support for corporate finance activities, including financial analysis and reporting.
* Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
* Participate in ad-hoc projects.
* Support other accounting duties as needed.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Proven experience in accounting or financial services is preferred.
* Accounting experience of 2-4 years.
* Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Excel, and Word) is required.
* Strong understanding of corporate finance principles and practices.
* Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of budgeting processes and account reconciliation techniques is a plus.
