HUMAN<p>RESOURCE SERVICES ASSISTANT - PAYROLL <p>1.0<p>FTE Permanent<p>Salary<p>Range: $62,780 - $78,478 per year<p>The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants<p>for the position of Human Resource Services Assistant Payroll. The successful candidate will work within the<p>Human Resource Services Department to provide administrative and office support<p>to various teams as required; the current assignment will support the<p>Compensation and Benefit Services team, the Health and Wellness Services team,<p>and the Human Resource Services team. The<p>Human Resources Assistant Payroll will be responsible for: 1) Pension <p>Administration of the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTPP) and the Ontario<p>Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS). <p>This includes offering and processing enrolment for Full Time (FT) and<p>Not Full Time (NFT) employees, offering employees the opportunity to purchase<p>pension while on leaves of absence, annual pension reconciliations, monthly<p>reconciliation of pension liability accounts, and responding to queries from<p>the pension providers. 2) Benefits <p>Working with the various benefits providers/plans, responding to benefit<p>inquiries from benefit providers and employees, processing benefit premium<p>invoices and billing employees on leave of absence, monthly reconciliation of<p>pension liability accounts.<p>This is a position that requires a high level of initiative,<p>professionalism, diplomacy, confidentiality, and the ability to work both<p>independently and as a team member. The<p>successful candidate will be responsible for verifying documentation and<p>ensuring completeness and accuracy; establishing and maintaining employee<p>payroll files with respect to Board procedure and policy requirements;<p>preparing and maintaining correspondence, and other materials; identifying and<p>implementing process improvements; and providing departmental support as<p>required.<p>Qualifications, Pertinent<p>Skills and Experience: <p> <p>Three (3) year College diploma<p>in Human Resources, Business or a related combination of education and<p>experience. <p> <p>Three (3) years administrative<p>experience in pension / benefits / payroll, preferably in an educational<p>setting or a large, complex, unionized human resources environment. <p> <p>National<p>Payroll Institute Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation preferred.<p> <p>Comprehensive knowledge of<p>payroll legislative requirements including, Canada Revenue Agency and Service<p>Canada, Employment Standards Act.<p> <p>Previous<p>work experience and excellent working knowledge of<p>OMERS and OTPP<p> <p>Excellent computer skills<p>including experience with MS Office applications (Word, Access, Excel, and SharePoint);<p> <p>Knowledge of K212 (IPPS.net) or a<p>similar HRIS would be a definite asset.<p> <p>Excellent analytical, problem<p>solving, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.<p> <p>Strong written and verbal<p>communication and interpersonal skills.<p> <p>Highly organized with experience<p>in developing and maintaining organizational systems.<p> <p>Self-starter with the proven<p>ability to multi-task, prioritize with competing priorities and high attention<p>to detail while adhering to strict deadlines.<p> <p>Ability to work successfully in<p>a team atmosphere and demonstrate professionalism in dealing with both<p>sensitive and confidential issues.<p>TESTING MAY BE
