The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum. The Position Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority has a contract opening for a Nutritionist for the 2024-2025 school year. This position will work as a resource to the development of strong comprehensive school-based nutrition interventions with emphasis on Canadas Food Guide Healthy Eating in Schools and other initiatives that support the whole child. All programming will be rooted in the Denesuline Land-based Culture & Language. Duties Research & evaluate existing practices in each of the ADEA four schools Develop and lead creative, innovative projects and teams to promote the ADEA Nutrition/Food Programs Create a plan for Nutrition Education Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 Audit required resources for School Programs Build partnerships and secure grants for sustained funding in nutrition and food security.
