*Job Summary*
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to oversee and manage architectural projects from inception to completion under the direct supervision of the firm's principals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a comprehensive understanding of project management methodologies in an architectural practice. This role requires effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
*Education / Work Requirements*
* Accredited degree in Architecture and/or
* Diploma from an accredited Architectural Technology program and/or
* Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
* Minimum 7 years of local architectural experience
*Technical Skills/Knowledge Requirements*
* Possess working knowledge of Autodesk REVIT
* Possess advance knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.);
* Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Possess strong interpersonal skills among the project team, consultants and client representatives.
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Proficient knowledge of federal, provincial, and local building systems, Building and Energy codes relating to various building projects.
* Ability to travel to and from the firm by automobile to attend project meetings.
* Understanding architectural / construction means and methods; and the ability to fully coordinate these systems with our consultants.
* Proficient understanding of Construction Drawing/Detailing of various residential, educational, commercial and institutional building systems of any size.
* Ability to solve complex construction problems to serve the Client?s program and advise the Principals of any issues that deviate from the program goals and/or that impact the project budget and timeline.
* Proficient understanding of mechanical, electrical, Structural and Civil Engineering disciplines, while understanding the impact that these disciplines have on the architectural design concept. The Project Manager must possess the ability to direct consulting teams in the early stages of design and be involved in the selection of systems and assemblies for each Project(s). The Project Manager must properly coordinate consultants throughout the project.
* Conduct budgeting activities, including cost estimation and financial reporting.
* Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of development.
* Ability to function comfortably, gain trust, confidence and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals including clients, owner?s representatives, consultants, contractors and the ADA project team.
*Key Roles/Responsibilities*
Must proficiently serve in the following capacities throughout each project:
* Lead and manage multiple architectural projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
* Supervise project teams, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
* Will be in a team of 3-4 staff members and be responsible for their productivity throughout each Project. The PM will consistently meet with team members to direct workload and review project timelines/milestones.
* Facilitate change management processes to address evolving project requirements effectively.
* Will lead the site survey of existing spaces and structures and direct the junior staff accordingly to produce efficient and accurate reviews.
* Serve as the Construction Contract Administrator during the Construction Phase, as required. Specific responsibilities during this phase include:
* - Review and approval of Shop Drawings & Submittals.
* - Responding to Contractor?s Request For Information (RFI?s).
* - Review certificates for payment.
* - Review and Approve Change Orders.
* - Prepare and Issue supplemental inst
