*Job Summary:*
The Human Resources Manager oversees daily HR operations at the assigned location. This role provides comprehensive HR support and guidance to senior management, focusing on employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement. Close collaboration with the HR team and business leaders is essential to ensure HR needs align with business objectives and foster a positive company culture.
*General Responsibilities and Duties:*
· *Advise and Coach:* Provide guidance to leaders and supervisors on resolving employee inquiries and employee relations issues, including policy violations, investigations, discipline, and terminations. Consult with legal counsel as needed.
· *Oversee HR Initiatives:* Manage HR initiatives and administration between US and Canada to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Offer guidance and backup administrative support at the location.
· *Recruitment and Talent Management: *Manage talent pools and actively participate in the recruitment and interview process, promoting diversity and best hiring practices to attract top talent. Lead and support the annual performance review process and merit pay consideration for all positions at the location.
· *Strategy:* Collaborate with other executives to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the company?s goals and objectives.
· *Compliance:* Ensure adherence to company policies, Employment Standards, the Ontario Human Rights Code, and other regulatory requirements.
· *Manage Employee Support, Leaves, and Compensation Claims:* Support employees in understanding their paychecks, benefits, and company policies and procedures. Handle complex employee leaves (WCB, STD, LTD) and worker compensation claims, and assist with return-to-work processes as needed.
· *Collaborate on Training and Development: *Work with leaders and production supervisors to identify and address employee training and development needs.
· *Company Culture:* Develop channels to understand the company?s pulse and provide timely HR and company updates. Support and participate in employee appreciation events and perform other duties and projects as assigned.
*Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
· Strong knowledge of Human Resources best practices, and regulatory compliance.
· Knowledge and understanding of Canadian Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and Ontario Human Rights Code.
· Experience conducting investigations and managing a structured performance management process.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and discretion and professionalism.
· Proficient in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint).
· Collaborative mindset and ability to work independently and with a global team.
· Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
· Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
· Excellent attention to detail
· Collaboration skills, the ability to work across functions and build consensus with decision-makers at all levels of the organization.
· High level of integrity, ethical standards, reporting, and alignment with corporate values.
*Education and/or Experience:*
· Bachelor?s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
· 8+ years of experience in human resources including roles with increasing responsibilities
· 2+ years of experience in a lead
