Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Office of health care professional. Tasks: Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities. Follow through on treatment programs with patients. Help physical therapists. Position patients for treatments by chiropractor or machine. Set up and dismantle equipment. Clean and maintain equipment. Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation for re-use according to standardized safety practices. Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation. Maintain supplies. Connect treatment machines to patients, as directed by chiropractor. Maintain inventory of equipment. Perform general clerical duties. Process files and paperwork. Schedule and confirm appointments. Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments. Teach and/or supervise exercises to patients. Order supplies and equipment. Organize and maintain inventory. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. Area of specialization: Physiotherapy. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Client focus.
