Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Electrical or electronic equipment manufacturing. Various locations. Instrumentation and control products manufacturing company. Tasks: Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications. Design electrical and electronic components, systems and equipment. Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Investigate electrical or electronic failures. Commission systems and components. Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems. Computer and technology knowledge: Power Line Systems, computer aided design and drafting (PLS-CADD). AutoCAD. MS Office. Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Electronic mail. Equipment and machinery experience: Electrical wiring devices. Area of work experience: Computer software development. Design. Installation, maintenance and inspection of equipment or facilities. Specification or technical writing. Instrumentation. Testing and evaluation. Area of specialization: Communications. System integration. Electrical. Electronics (industrial). Lighting.
