Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Noisy. Cold/refrigerated. Hot. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Willing to relocate. On-site customer service. Tasks: Prepare production and other reports. Recommend measures to improve productivity . Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise workers and projects. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions. Train or arrange for training. Prepare bids. Estimate costs and materials. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Recommend personnel actions. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Measure and lay out reference points for installation. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Coach and instruct apprentices. Provide customer service. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Troubleshoot heating systems. Supervision: Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics. 5-10 people. Apprentices. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate. Control systems: Electronic and solid state. Electrical devices. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Ventilation. Heat pump. Filtration. Built up (split system). Air motioning and circulation. Rooftop (self-contained). Geothermal. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment.
