The Position
The *Supply Chain Director* reports to the VP of Operations and is an integral member of Prepac?s operations team. The Supply Chain Director is responsible for overseeing sourcing, purchasing, master scheduling. transportation, and inventory control management at our manufacturing facilities in Delta, BC and Whitsett, NC. The successful candidate is a proven leader able to perform strategic supply chain activities, including supplier contract and pricing negotiations, managing brokerage and freight logistics, and ensuring consistent supply of products for the facilities. *This is an on-site position based in our Delta, BC location.*
Responsibilities:
* *Sourcing: *Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategy for all spend categories and coordinate sourcing of direct material for new products. Participate in the quality approval process when new materials are introduced with production, purchasing, and product engineering team.
* *Purchasing strategy:* Develop and execute purchasing strategies to reduce risk, decrease overall spend, and increase reliability of our inbound supply chain.
* *Day-to-Day Purchasing:* Guide and oversee the efforts of our purchasing team, act as a point of escalation if issues arise from quality, lead time, etc.
* *Supplier management:* Develop and implement supplier scorecards to be reviewed by purchasing and sourcing to inform future contract/sourcing decisions. Coordinate Quarterly Business Reviews with major suppliers.
* *Manage changes in supply:* Oversee any supplier changes in close coordination with purchasing, finance, and operations. Putting risk management plans in place, ensuring adequate amount of materials are available, and controlling raw material spend with phased out incumbent suppliers.
* *Master Scheduling:* Coordinate and oversee work done by Master Scheduler.
* *Inventory management:* Provide regular reporting on inventory health such as days on hand, turns, and work with finance and production to make informed buying/inventory-level decisions.
* *Transportation:* Coordinate and oversee work done by Transportation Engineer.
* *MRP data maintenance:* Manage our master supplier and material data in our MRP system. Ensure information is accurate.
Desired Experience and Skills
* Minimum of 10 years of Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment with previous team management responsibility.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred. ASCM or CSCMP certification considered a plus.
* Experience with setting and executing purchasing strategies - should be able to assume role of both ?coach? and ?player?, when needed.
* Familiarity with MRP systems.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop cohesive working relationships both within Supply Chain team and with other departments.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
* Background or familiarity with engineered wood processing and/or furniture design a big plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
