Evergreen Home for Special Care - Senior's Centre Located at 655 Park Street, Kentville, NS has 1 - 0.8 permanent part time job openings for continuing care assistants (NOC 33102)Salary: $18.93 to $24.33 / hour (As per the collective agreement)Vacancies: 1Terms of employment: 0.8 Permanent ( 64 hours bi-weekly ) with the potential to become full time ( 80 hours bi-weekly Avg.).Start date: As soon as possibleEmployment conditions: Shift workJob Requirements:Languages: EnglishEducation: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experienceExperience: Experience an assetSecurity and Safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse registry checkWork Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demandingAdditional Skills: Supply and empty bed pans, Serve meal trays and feed patients, Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments, Make beds and maintain patients' rooms, Maintain inventory of supplies, Assist with the set-up and maintenance of traction equipment, cleaning or sterilizing equipment, maintaining and repairing equipment, and assembling, setting-up and operating job-related equipment Specific Skills Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Weigh, lift, turn and position patients, Supervise patients' exercise routines, Bathe, dress and groom patients, Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher, Answer call signals, Collect specimens, Administer first aid in emergency situationsWeight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)Work Setting: Nursing home/home for the agedCredentials: (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.) Continuing Care Assistant Certification in Nova Scotia or eligible to become certified in Nova Scotia under the recognized prior learning program within 2 years of commencing employmentHow to apply:By email: hr@evergreenhome.ns.caBy fax: 902-678-5996By mail: 655 Park St Kentville, NS B4N 3V7Intended Job Posting Audience: Anyone who can legally work in Canada can apply for this job.
