Job details
Education: Master's degree. Work setting: Residential treatment centre. Tasks: Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes. Examine the behaviour. Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems. Record observations. Write progress reports . Prepare a treatment plan for each patient. Provide therapy. Implement treatment plans. Perform administrative tasks. Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them. Counsel clients, provide therapy and mediation services, and facilitate group sessions. Maintain accurate records. Identify additional/alternative services and provide referrals. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals.
