Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Equipment operation. Tasks: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Estimate costs and materials. Prepare bids. Prepare production and other reports. Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Establish methods to meet work schedules. Recommend personnel actions. Requisition materials and supplies. Supervise workers and projects. Train or arrange for training. Prepare production reports. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Tight deadlines. Work under pressure. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Dependability. Initiative. Judgement. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees . Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers .
