Location:   Various locations across  Alberta As a Pediatric Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in various healthcare settings. Your role is essential in promoting the health and well-being of young patients and supporting their families through medical procedures and treatment plans. Key Responsibilities: Assess and monitor the health status of pediatric patients, including taking vital signs, conducting physical exams, and gathering medical histories. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on the unique needs of each child, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosages and patient safety. Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and preventative care, providing support and resources as needed. Manage medical equipment and assist with diagnostic tests and procedures specific to pediatric patients. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting observations, interventions, and patient progress. Advocate for the needs and rights of pediatric patients, ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment. Stay informed about developments in pediatric nursing practices, treatments, and healthcare regulations. Requirements Bachelor?s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an Associate?s degree in Nursing (ADN) may be acceptable with relevant experience. Active nursing license in [insert relevant state or region]. Previous experience in pediatric nursing or a related field is preferred. Strong clinical skills and a thorough understanding of pediatric healthcare. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children and their families. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team and provide compassionate care.
