Location:   Various locations across  Alberta As a Critical Care Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients with life-threatening conditions and complex medical needs in intensive care settings. Your expertise will be vital in monitoring, assessing, and managing critically ill patients, ensuring the highest standards of care. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, interpreting diagnostic tests, and evaluating medical histories. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, addressing the unique needs of each patient. Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and other treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols. Provide continuous monitoring and support for patients using advanced medical equipment and technology. Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and care processes, offering emotional support during challenging times. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and make timely decisions regarding patient management. Stay current with advancements in critical care practices, protocols, and technology to enhance patient outcomes. Requirements Bachelor?s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an Associate?s degree in Nursing (ADN) may be accepted with relevant experience. Active nursing license in [insert relevant state or region]. Previous experience in critical care nursing or in a similar high-acuity environment is preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills to respond effectively to emergencies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or similar credentials preferred.
