Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. Wet/damp. Work setting: Animal shelter. Kennel. Pet grooming shop. Daycare. Tasks: Document animal behaviour. Monitor animal behaviour. Prepare food and feed animals. Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures. Keep records of animals treated. Supervise helpers. Maintain and order supplies. Clip animal nails. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Pet first aid course. Animal specialization: Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.). Hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, etc.. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment.
