Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Remote location. Tasks: Calculate crane capacities . Load, unload and transport construction materials. Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting. Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials. Perform pre-operational inspection. Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Clean and lubricate cranes. Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures. Instruct apprentices. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas. Operate gantry cranes to load and unload ship cargo at port side. Operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
