Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Confined spaces. Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Renovation. Commercial. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Estimate costs and materials. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Safety vest.
