*HSE Manager Position Summary:*
Pivotal is looking for an HSE Manager to join our Health, Safety and Regulatory team. The successful candidate will be supporting the team with various tasks. The Manger role focuses on delivering HSE support and guidance to our operational areas, both in Canada and the US. This includes implementing and executing Health & Safety programs that align with our strategic priorities and support company initiatives. The individual will lead training, auditing and coaching of facility leadership on the requirements and responsibilities of our safety program, whilst ensuring the highest standards of environmental and safety practices within the energy industry.
*The responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:*
* Supporting senior management in the strategic development and communication of HSE initiatives and organizational commitment to the OHS system.
* Assess current company HSE programs and implement enhancements and improvements as needed.
* Understand how the business is impacted by local, provincial, and federal OHS rules and regulations and provide clear and accurate interpretations to operations managers.
* Managing the overall OHSM systems and ensuring the program meets legislative and client requirements and is easily audited (COR).
* Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and procedures specific to energy projects, as well as others on an as-needed basis.
* Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization.
* Work with the team to analyze root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Ensure timely reporting of all safety incidents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
* Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards.
* Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
* Manage incident investigations and prepare detailed reports on findings.
* Coordinate with management to develop strategies for minimizing environmental impact.
* Organize HSE training sessions for employees to enhance safety culture throughout the organization.
* Provide day-to-day support for health, and safety (H&S) on-site safety programs, procedures, safe work practices, campaigns, etc.
* Knowledge and provide regulatory reporting requirements.
* Manage and update compliance sites such as ISN, AVETTA and ComplyWorks.
*Preference will be given to candidates that have the following qualities/skills:*
* Minimum 10 years? experience in a Health and Safety role.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work well under pressure.
* Practical knowledge and experience in training and coaching staff.
* A broad understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles.
* Strong ability to build working relationships and contacts within the organization as well as with external regulators, vendors, and contractors.
* Strong research, problem solving, observation, analytical, and report writing skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Participate in hazard and control inventory and risk register population and management for H&S hazards, aspects, impacts and risks.
