Principle Projects has a number of long-term projects on the go, and we are looking to add to our team! We are currently looking for _*Carpenters (Journeyman)*_ to join our *Redwater Crew* on an industrial site located just 22km north of Fort Saskatchewan.
Must be local to the Edmonton area and have access to reliable transportation. The shift is 10 hour a day from Monday-Thursday. We are extremely busy so there will be overtime available between Friday and Sunday.
*There is also the opportunity throughout the year for out-of-town work where LOA is paid for days worked. *
*Note: *Crew members for out of town work are selected from our *Redwater Crew* based on project scope, availability and safety certificates.
_Responsibilities often include:_
* Selecting, measuring and assembling materials for concrete fabrication.
* Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour in concrete and masonry construction projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for concrete.
* Assist with loading trucks and trailers with equipment and material.
* Assist with mobilization and de-mobilization of trucks, equipment and materials to and from sites.
* Operate small hand tools & powered tools.
* Assist with excavations around site.
* Cut, building and place forms.
* Assist with placing and tying rebar; may include cutting and bend rebar.
* Assisting with pouring and finishing concrete.
* Ensure all tools are cleaned daily and put away in the proper location.
_Experience / Skills:_
* At a minimum, applicants must have 3 years of industrial concrete experience.
* Journeyman must have certification. Equivalent years of experience may be considered.
* Good eye for detail and be able to check that the work is level, plumb and square.
* Manual dexterity (work with a steady hand using various tools).
* Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
* Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
* Ability to meet attendance schedule - dependability and consistency.
_Requirements:_
* WHMIS 2015 (Mandatory ? All Sites)
* H2S Alive (out-of-town work)
* CSTS ? 2020 (out-of-town work)
* Intermediate First Aid (considered an asset)
* Ground Disturbance (considered an asset)
* Confined Space Entry & Monitor (considered an asset)
*Please Note:* Pre-Access Testing is not required for this project however most out-of-town projects require pre-access testing for those who are interested.
