Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Evaluate daily operations . Monitor department's performance. Plan and organize daily operations. Plan for changes to schedules and policies. Prepare reports for senior management. Recruit staff. Supervise staff. Train staff. Manage finances or budget. Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit. Ensure transport compliance with regulations. Establish and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods. Negotiate for services and preferential rates. Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods. Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue. Administer programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment in rural and urban areas. Organize and maintain inventory. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Supervise professional and support staff and students. Respond to enquiries from members of the business community concerning development opportunities. Recruit and hire staff. Provide consulting services to government and other organizations. Provide advice on procedures and requirements for government approval of development proposals. Plan development projects. Perform administrative tasks. Develop venture capital sources. Prepare reports, research papers, educational texts or articles. Conduct analytical marketing studies. Design market research questionnaires. Evaluate customer service and store environments. Design, conduct and analyze quantitative and qualitative research projects. Develop feasibility studies. Provide consultation on planning and starting of new businesses.. Develop marketing strategies. Ensure appropriate business/commercial licenses are in place. Conduct online marketing, E-commerce and Website promotions.
