_We are one of Western Canada?s most aggressive and vertically integrated group of Companies, currently recruiting for a Human Resource Generalist opportunity at our Corporate office in Sherwood Park, AB. _
_Our group is compromised of building supply yards, steel roofing & siding manufacturing and engineered steel building manufacturing. We are a dynamic group of companies with exponential growth and change potential._
_The ideal candidate will have experience in HR or employee recruitment, with a thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures. The bulk of the role will involve employee orientations, benefits administration, compensation, rewards, and conflict resolution, and there is great opportunity for developing and refining systems. We?re eager to find a human resources manager who connects easily with people and has a detail-oriented mindset for handling the dynamic nature of today?s workforce._
_*Objectives of this role:*_
· _Oversee and refine employee standards and procedures, using existing HR systems as well as improved or recommended processes_
· _Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, expense reimbursement, and vacation_
· _Assist with recruitment efforts, and prepare employees for their assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs_
· _Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial HR regulations by conducting investigations and maintaining records_
· _Identify and recommend improvements to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale building_
_*Responsibilities:*_
· _Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions_
· _Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection_
· _Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs_
· _Recommending, planning and implementing pay structure revisions_
· _Ensures planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors_
· _Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs_
· _Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and provincial requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings_
· _Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures_
· _Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records_
· _Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; reviewing professional publications_
· _Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees_
· _Maintains staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results_
_*Required skills and qualifications:*_
· _Three or more years of experience in human resources or employee recruitment_
· _Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset_
· _Adept at problem solving and conflict resolution_
