*Who You Are:*
The Technician, under the direction of the Sales & Service Coordinator, will primarily be responsible to ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency while working in a busy shop environment and becoming part of a well-established team. This role will also ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs. The Technician must possess certifications or licenses appropriate to manufacturing industry and knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes.
*About the Role:*
* Test, rebuild and repair electric motors, generators, transformers, irrigation pumps, welders, controllers and related electrical and mechanical equipment used in commercial, industrial and institutional establishments
* Maintain the electric motors and related equipment used to power machinery and equipment in various applications such as production plants and large businesses
* Diagnose problems and dismantle electric motors, transformers, switchgear, electric welders, generators and other electrical and mechanical equipment for servicing, modification or repair,
* Remove and replace shafts, bearings, commutators and other components, referring to blueprints or service manuals as required
* Wind and assemble various types of coils for electric motors or transformers and reinstall them
* Balance armatures or rotors, weld and braze or solder electrical connections, and align and adjust parts to close tolerances to reassemble items
* Carry out occasional service calls
* Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production
* Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times
* Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
* Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
* Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planing, drilling, and precision grinding
* Bolt, screw, clip, weld, solder, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment
* Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines
* Lubricate, clean, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools
* Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications
* Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues, and able to work with limited supervision
* Operate and tend automated assembling equipment such as robotic and fixed automation equipment
* Position and install parts, subassemblies, and accessories using hand tools, power tools, and other aids like overhead hoists
* Remove parts or completed products from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers, and other shipping and receiving tasks as required.
* Build quotes for technical equipment, and conduct sales of technical equipment using POS systems
* Able to operate a 5-ton forklift.
* Perform other duties as assigned
*Required Experience:*
* Certifications or licenses appropriate to the electric motor rewind industry
* Millwright, Electrician or Electric Motor Systems Technician Apprentices are encouraged to apply
* Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes
* Good Trouble-shooting skills are an asset
* Ability an experience with interpretation of basic circuit diagrams and schematics are an asset
* Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
* Ability to lift heavy objects, i.e. up to 50 lbs, walk, and stand for long periods of time
