International & Indigenous Languages (Elementary Program) Instructor(s)<p>Continuing and Community Education COMP 3905418The Ottawa Catholic School Board invites applications from candidates interested in being considered for the International & Indigenous Languages (Elementary) Program Continuing Education instructor positions and supply instructor positions, which may become available during the 2024-2025 school year. The International & Indigenous Language Elementary Program runs for 32 Saturdays from September to June. Please note that staffing is based on student enrollment and classes may be offered in-person, virtually, or both.Language and Location: Beginner ASL - Virtual from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm., SaturdaysRequired Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills : Knowledge of and fluency of American Sign Language, Deaf culture and needs of Deaf in Hearing/Deaf Cultural settings<p> Must have knowledge of and fluency of the language (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing);<p> Knowledgeable about the culture, history and traditions and be able to integrate them into classroom activities appropriate to the age group;<p> Comfortable teaching online, in a classroom or a combination of both methods. OCSB will provide some training, support and mentoring. In addition, the following will be considered an asset: Previous experience working with children and/or youth; <p> Good computer skills (Google Apps, Microsoft Office).Start Date: October 19, 2024<p>COMPENSATION: Instructors - $23.00/hour ($29.50 hour if OCT certified) plus 4% vacation pay (depending on qualifications).
