*We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to handle accounting functions as part of our Finance team. *
Are you someone with a *recent certificate or diploma in accounting with 3 years experience* with *Quickbooks Enterprise*? Do you have *2 years experience in completing payroll for both hourly and salary staff?* Do you have experience in a manufacturing environment with a large volume of inventory? Do you love problem solving and take pride in ensuring everything balances? *This is a full-time on-site role in Sturgeon County AB, minutes outside of St Albert.*
*Responsibilities:*
* Process bi-monthly payroll thru Quickbooks Enterprise. Stong knowledge of payroll and the Alberta Employment Standards is required.
* Manage new employee setup, files and benefits.
* Manage and calculate monthly sales commissions for one broker and numerous salespersons.
* Manage the accounting of expenses for multiple salespersons.
* Validate, coordinate, review and process two Accounts Payable Runs per month.
* Manage receivables, including setup, credit checks, invoicing and collections.
* Enter and validate a large volume of credit card purchases.
* Complete bi-monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
* Inventory management and job costing associated with a large volume of sales orders.
* Perform quality assurance to ensure the accounting data integrity is maintained and reporting is accurate.
* Create and maintain excel spreadsheets and perform other reconciliations as required.
* Office administrative duties including answering phones and filing.
* Assist Assistant Controller with responsibilities as needed.
*Qualifications and Experience:*
* Certificate or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping.
* *Must have* three years of Quickbooks Enterprise, Premier or Pro experience. Experience within manufacturing and with inventory and project allocations.
* *Must have *two years experience with processing both hourly and salary payroll and strong working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards.
* Familiarity with processing and remitting GST and PST.
* Exceptional attention to detail and highly values accuracy.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong cash management skills.
* Works well under pressure

* Team player and positive attitude
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills & client service skills
* Computer proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Gmail and other linked software.
* Fluent with the English language

We work a 8-hour shift (8 to 5), Monday to Friday, and this position is in our Sturgeon County headquarters, a short drive outside St. Albert.
