The Human Resources and Health and Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of human resources and health and safety policies and programs. This role ensures the company complies with all employment laws and regulations, promotes a positive workplace culture, and maintains a safe working environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
1. \*\*Human Resources Management:\*\*
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage talent development.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
2. \*\*Health and Safety Management:\*\*
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate health and safety training programs for employees.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain health and safety records and documentation.
- Promote a culture of safety and well-being within the organization.
3. \*\*Training and Development:\*\*
- Design and deliver training programs on HR and health and safety topics.
- Identify training needs and develop training plans.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements.
4. \*\*Employee Wellness:\*\*
- Develop and implement employee wellness programs.
- Promote mental and physical health initiatives.
- Provide resources and support for employee well-being.
5. \*\*Compliance and Reporting:\*\*
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies as required.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in HR and health and safety laws and regulations.
- Ensure the organization?s policies and practices are compliant with current legislation.
\*\*Qualifications:\*\*
- Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Professional certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) and/or health and safety (e.g.,NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
- In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. \*\* Payroll\*\*
Doing payroll for direct deposit
\*\*Working Conditions:\*\*
- Will be traveling to 3 production plants, Wheatley ON, Tilbury ON, and London ON.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
