We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a *HR Generalist*. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our HR strategies and overseeing the entire spectrum of human resources functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HR professional to contribute to the continued success and growth of our organization. *This position, based in Mill Bay, is 24 hours per week and will require some travel to our 7 locations.*

*Who You Are*
Are you a people person with a knack for getting things done? Do you have a sixth sense for sniffing out good vibes and cultivating positivity? Do you have a knack for technology and ensuring all the details are addressed? If so, we want you to join our team as our HR Generalist!
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Assist the Human Resource manager in all administrative aspects of hiring, recruiting, reference checking, time/attendance monitoring and performance management as well as organize company-wide events.
* Facilitate seamless onboarding and orientation processes to ensure new employees are integrated effectively into our organization, regardless of their location
* Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, adhering to privacy regulations and data protection protocols
* Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
* Stay updated on HR trends and best practices, and provide recommendations to improve HR processes and policies, taking into account the diverse nature of our multi-location workforce
* Collaborate with management and department heads to integrate safety practices into daily operations and project planning
* Prepare employment contracts and update payroll software for new hires and terminations
* Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and near-miss situations, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures to mitigate future risks
* Foster a safety-conscious culture by organizing safety campaigns, promoting employee engagement, and recognizing and rewarding safety achievements.
* Liaise with external safety agencies, auditors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with inspections and reporting requirements
* Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations at all times, safeguarding the interests of the organization and its employees across different locations.
* Chair the health and safety committee
* Research and provide advice to senior management on specific HR and compliance issues
*Skills and Experience that Make You a Good Fit*
* Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience in a similar role
* Thorough understanding of British Columbia Employment laws and regulations
* Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with employees from diverse backgrounds
