*Job Summary*
We are a Full-Service Lumber and building Center located in Red Lake, Ontario and looking to add a truck/delivery driver to our team. The Municipality is in the upper Northwest corner of Ontario in the heart of Canada. Residents enjoy the area?s natural beauty, with pristine lakes, rivers, streams, forests and clear blue skies. The Red Lake area offers great fishing and hunting along with one of the best-kept ecotourism sites in the world - Woodland Caribou Provincial Park.
We are a one-stop shop for all your home renovation needs. We specialize in kitchen/home improvement renovations, custom design buildings and Do It Yourself handy-person. We turn our customers ideas into reality with a ?You can do anything? philosophy, so creativity, passion, and a meticulous attention to detail are essential qualities for this role.
The Delivery Driver acts as a key point of contact with our drivers and clients in the yard, helping to pull orders, pick appropriate product from the racks or stacks, and accurately fill and sign-off orders. As a valuable member of our team, duties will include forklift operation, safe and balanced loading, unloading, shipping/delivering assistance, and maintaining an orderly yard. Exposure to variable temperature and weather conditions is considered part of the normal working conditions in our outdoor lumber yard
*Duties*
- Safely operate a variety of trucks, including delivery vans and box trucks
- Transport and deliver goods over short or long distances
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers
- Perform regular vehicle inspections and maintenance
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
· Obtaining customers' signatures after each delivery to confirm receipt of the correct goods, in the correct quantity.
· Planning travel routes, considering possible road construction, traffic congestion, and difficult weather conditions, to ensure that deliveries are made on time.
· Promptly notifying dispatch of any delivery issues, cargo damage, and vehicle breakdowns.
*Qualifications*
- Previous experience in commercial driving
- Ability to operate a forklift is a plus
- Capable of heavy lifting and moving large items
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication-proficient in English, reading and writing
- Familiarity with warehouse operations
· Must be at least 25 years of age with a valid DZ driver?s license
· A clean driving record. Abstract, CVOR, Background check is required.
· Proven experience working as a DZ Driver.
· Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
· The ability to drive in difficult weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00-$32.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
