<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN</strong></p><p><strong>LOCATION: </strong>Hannon, ON<strong> </strong></p><p><strong>JOB TYPE:</strong> Full-time</p><p><strong>REPORTS TO:</strong> Project Manager/Site Supervisor</p><p><strong>JOB OVERVIEW:</strong> The Landscape Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site aspects of landscape construction projects. This role involves leading a crew of workers, managing day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of landscape construction techniques, equipment operation, and leadership experience.</p><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p>Supervision & Leadership:</p><p>Lead and supervise a crew of landscape construction workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Assign duties and provide guidance and support to crew members, ensuring they have the necessary tools and materials. Train and mentor crew members on proper landscaping techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.</p><p>Project Management:</p><p>Interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine work procedures and deliverables. Coordinate daily work schedules, ensuring project timelines and deadlines are met. Monitor the quality of work and ensure all landscaping installations comply with project specifications. Collaborate with the project manager to order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed. Troubleshoot issues that arise on-site and provide effective solutions.</p><p>Site Operations:</p><p>Ensure the site is set up properly and maintained in a safe and organized manner throughout the project. Operate and maintain landscape construction equipment, including excavators, skid steers, trenchers, etc. Handle installation of hardscapes (patios, retaining walls, walkways), irrigation systems, plantings, and other landscape features. Ensure proper grading, drainage, and site preparation for landscape features. Perform site cleanup, ensuring that tools and materials are stored appropriately at the end of each day.</p><p>Safety & Compliance:</p><p>Enforce all company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Perform routine safety inspections on tools, equipment, and site conditions. Report any accidents or safety hazards to management immediately.</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><p>Experience: 3-5 years of experience in landscape construction, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.</p><p>Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, operating heavy equipment, and performing a variety of landscaping tasks (e.g., grading, hardscaping, irrigation).</p><p>Certifications: A valid driver's license and any relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, pesticide applicator's license, etc.) are preferred.</p><p>Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.</p><p>Communication: Effective communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with clients, supervisors, and workers.</p><p>Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, operating equipment, and working in various weather conditions.</p><p>Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
