*Job Summary*
As the Accounting Clerk, you will oversee all financial aspects of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
*Responsibilities*
_Payroll_: verify timesheets, banked hours and vacation hours
process payroll , burdens and pier audit when appropriate
verify job costing
process gvt deductions, union remittances, group insurance deductions
reconcile and prepare T4's at year end
_Progress billing and invoicing_: complete progress billing and other billing
register new job contracts
_A/P monthly payments_: register purchase orders
invoice matching with packing slips and statements
data entry in accounting system
review A/P statements
prepare list of A/P monthly payments
_bank reconciliation cashflow updates:_
prepare month end reconciliation
verify bank acct and visa statements
_month end preparation and verifications_:
review A/R aging for any collection
prepare bank deposits, register cash receipts in system
print monthly receivables listing
do month end journal entries: pre-paids, amortization, accruals
reconcile all balance sheet GL accounts
verify job costing to billing and register accruals
print monthly financial statements
_Year end preparation_: reconcile and prepare reports for all balance sheet accounts
prepare report on HST verification
expenses analysis
review variances in preparation for external verification
*Requirements*
- Proven experience in accounting, financial services, budgeting, and corporate finance
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, bank reconciliations, and financial auditing
- Proficiency in using accounting software like Jonas or similar platforms
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels, bilingualism a strong asset
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines consistently
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
Experience:
* Accounting: 5 years (required)
* Bookkeeping: 5 years (required)
