Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Dusty. Clean. Noisy. Work setting: Manufacturing or production. Food processing industry. Assembly. Tasks: Minimize hazards at all stages of the food production process. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Prepare production and other reports. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Weigh materials and goods. Visually inspect products for quality. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures. Supervise staff or team. Set up assembly line with materials and supplies required for production. Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines. Provide job training and support. Perform minor repairs to items rejected from production line. Package products. Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Monitor quality and production levels. Monitor and inspect work. Evaluate efficiency of production sites to determine adequacy of personnel, equipment and technologies used. Coaching. Check products and packaging for basic quality defects. Check and monitor product quality. Check final assembly for finish, labelling and packaging methods. Carry out administrative and clerical activities (record keeping, scheduling etc.). Communicate technical problems, processes and solutions. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Direct quality control inspections. Conduct quality control. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Help with scheduling and workflow. Check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required.
