Registered Early Childhood Educator - Long Term Assignment <p>St. John Paul II CES, Lindsay <p>35 hours per week <p>Immediately to June 26, 2025 <p>Applications can be done at home or from outside the school at www.applytoeducation.com no later than 12:00 p.m. on the closing date outlined above.<p>Job Function: <p>Work in collaboration with the teacher to plan and implement the Kindergarten program and to maintain a healthy<p>physical, emotional, and social learning environment. Registered Early Childhood Educators work during the<p>regular school day and may also continue appropriate supervision and programming for students in an extended<p>day program.Job Description: <p>1. Support efforts to integrate faith in all areas of the curriculum, including delivery of the Religion program<p>as well as participate in faith-based activities and liturgies.<p>2. Registered Early Childhood Educators collaborate teachers in observing, monitoring, and assessing the<p>progress and development of the children in Kindergarten and in communicating with families.<p>3. Partner with the teacher to plan and implement developmentally appropriate and student-interest driven<p>play-based programming to reach the Four Frames of Learning; Belonging and Contributing, Self-<p>Regulation and Well-Being, Demonstrating Literacy and Mathematics Behaviours and Problem Solving<p>and Innovating.<p>4. Assist children in becoming independent with washroom routines, dressing and lunchtime activities.<p>Guide students to be independent with toileting and assist when they experience issues.<p>5. Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, Welcome to Kindergarten Night and other professional<p>development activities.<p>6. Administer medication in accordance with Board Policy and Administration Regulations; AP-HS-401<p>Administration of Medication and/or Special Services.<p>7. Provide age appropriate programming for groups of students as part of an extended day program as<p>required to include:<p>? Provision of supervision.<p>? Providing direction to assistant if present.<p>? Ensuring a healthy and safe environment for students, with diverse activities to engage<p>students and build social competence, emotional maturity, literacy, numeracy and<p>physical skills.<p>? Maintaining all appropriate records for students (e.g. attendance, health issues, etc.)<p>? Setting up of classroom (e.g. display, upkeep, organization of materials, etc.).<p>? Maintaining a hygienic/safe environment<p>8. Other duties as assigned. <p>Job Requirements: <p>1. Requires O.S.S.D., (plus Early Childhood Education Diploma) with a minimum of six months experience an educational setting.<p>2. Proof of registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.<p>3. Knowledge of current Ministry of Education Kindergarten Program.<p>4. Requires excellent interpersonal qualities and is able to work as a team.<p>5. Experience planning and implementing developmentally-appropriate programs.<p>6. Current First Aid and CPR certification.<p>7. Basic computer skills.<p>8. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.<p>9. Requires knowledge of related legislation and pertinent Board policies and directives such as, but not limited to Administration of Medication and/or Special Services.<p>10. Requires performing physical duties such as lifting, carrying, extended periods of time walking/standing.<p>11. Proven ability to deal with difficult situations and to take appropriate action in stressful or emergency situations. PVNCCDSB is committed to achieving excellence in Catholic education.
